After a full Thursday morning of sitting in classes, I decided to spend the afternoon outside. I ate lunch with my roommates and then decided to go on a walk. I spent a half hour in the perfect 60 degree weather with some music taking delight in the beautiful changing leaves on all the trees surrounding UCD and walking through random neighborhoods. Then, I ran a route I taken before and ended up running down the coast. I took a break in the middle to sit and take it all in. The sky was so blue and there were clouds scattered here and there and the breeze off the water was so inviting.
I am in such a beautiful place. I am in Ireland, and I honestly still can't wrap my mind around that. The experiences I have had already are remarkable and I am thankful I still have 2 and a half more months. There is just such a desire within me to see the world and touch it everywhere I go. I want to really see and truly feel all there is to offer. I feel as though I am doing just that and it reminds me how truly blessed I am.
Today, Jena, Morgan, and I went for coffee on the canal before walking around to see new places. We found some neat street art, a nice restaurant for lunch, and a cute little park nestled into the city. There were dogs playing fetch, couples snuggled on benches, a waterfall, and statues. It was a nice place to take a break, lay in the grass and appreciate another day of life. It truly is a gift to go out and do what makes you happy, whatever that may be. For me, I am happy when I am exploring, getting coffee (very often), walking without direction, running as far as my feet will take me, traveling to as many places as my bank account will get me, and surrounding myself with good people. I was reading today and came across a quote: "Life is short. Always choose happiness." And it couldn't be more true.
