Thursday, since I had spent the past few days in Amsterdam, Conner and I decided to get breakfast together at our favorite coffee shop. I got to catch up with the girls that work there about my trip. They all have gotten to know me since I go there every week to work on homework or study, and they always enjoy hearing what I’ve been up to. After breakfast, we tried to walk around the city but gave up after getting soaked from head to toe in the rain. It’s been a stormy winter here in Ireland (lots of wind and rain). So, we came back to his apartment and watched movies until the evening when it was time for the Mumford and Sons concert at 3 Arena. We had seen them 2 years ago in Noblesville but they were even better than I remembered. We had the best time together enjoying the music! It was an amazing concert.
On Friday, it was a beautiful day with blue skies, fluffy clouds, and it was also over 50 degrees outside. I decided to go for a run and made my way down the coast towards Dun Laoghaire for 5 miles. It was the best run I had in ages and lost myself in the great weather. I went back into the city later to have dinner with Conner before Paul came over to hangout. We then went out to Flannery’s Pub for the night. It is a fun pub on Camden Street that plays some of the best old school music!
The storm started up again later Friday night and lasted all day Saturday, so we decided to stay in Conner’s apartment again for the day. The one time I left to go get food, I almost got taken away by the wind (Paul is my witness!), not to mention we misplaced the apartment keys until 11 pm. I’ll just call it a rest day!
Today Conner and I channeled our Christmas spirit and spent the day at the I Believe Christmas Market in Dublin. It was full of booths of crafts, food, mulled wine, and coffee shops. There’s a massive lit Christmas tree in the middle of all of them as well. I get so excited around this time of year with all the preparations for the holidays. The season makes me so grateful for everything and everyone I have in my life! After a late lunch at O’Brien’s sandwich café, Conner and I watched Elf before I headed out on an evening run around the city. My favorite was running past the Guinness Storehouse with it’s lit logo on the side of the building!
Now it’s time to begin studying again for finals that start this Wednesday! (Wish me luck.) As of today, I only have one full weekend left to spend in Ireland since Conner and I will be traveling from the 18th of December until the 28th! Time flies when we are having fun.
