It was a long spent Saturday hiking the countryside of Ireland. Conner and I took a day trip to the town of Glendalough where we were able to see a beautiful lake set in a valley, the Monastic City there, and some of the oldest stone churches in the country. This Monastic City was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Within the remains stands the Round Tower, as shown in the picture I took on the right. Throughout the mountainside were waterfalls, multicolored flowers, and trees that were up to 200 years old. It was definitely in awe that I studied the landscape and remains of these historic landmarks.
I am grateful for the ability to see such places. I know this is the first of many days I'll be spending venturing out of the city to discover more about the landscape and history here. It makes my heart happy to travel and to be able to share it with my family and friends back home. Thanks for all of your support through your comments and I hope you are enjoying.
Sending my love from Ireland!
