This week has flown by even faster than the rest. Since Alyshia has left, I have been busy with classes and doing schoolwork for the past couple of days. I had a walking tour around the city on Wednesday for one of my classes where I had to do a short speech on the Old Parliament Building. It was cool to learn about different things about Dublin/Ireland history I wouldn’t have known were so significant otherwise.
After class yesterday, I met Conner to spend the afternoon together. We went to the National Museum of Ireland of Archaeology, the National Gallery of Ireland, and the Natural History Museum. After spending the afternoon exploring the museums, we had a nice dinner at Smokin Bones. It was a very Americanized BBQ restaurant that had amazing ribs, pulled pork, and some great mac n cheese. (That was the first mac n cheese I’ve had since I left.. I’ve missed it!!)
Conner and I both didn’t have classes at all this fine Friday, so we spent the morning wandering the streets checking out little shops and stopping at a new café (he supports my coffee-drinking habits). They had the best drink called a coffee bon bon, which is condensed milk with a double shot of espresso and the best peach cheesecake. (I swear I’ve been running/walking off the desserts- I am training for a 10k!) We walked for a couple hours before returning to his apartment and made a day-changing decision… to start rewatching the Star Wars series together! So I finally took a day in to watch movies and relax instead of searching for some crazy thing to do. I’m not going to lie, we watched 3 of them already.
I have been here exactly 2 months as of tomorrow. I can’t believe my study abroad is over half way through. Thanks for all the support I’ve received back home and for keeping tabs on my journeys throughout my time. Can’t wait for the next two months and the adventures and memories I will create during them!
