Second week of classes began with a recuperation day this Monday. I got a bit of a cold from my weekend travels, but after lots of tea, resting, and a full night of good sleep, I feel much better! I have had some people tell me that I don't seem to have things go wrong, and that all is always well. Not all days are perfect, not all days are even good, but that's okay with me, and I try not to dwell on those times! Yesterday wasn't great. I stayed in all day sick, and I even happened to trip and fall in the mud the one time I did leave my apartment! I believe that these days are important because they make the good days even better!
Today I have felt much better and had a full day of classes learning about the swine industry in Ireland and how different it is compared to the US, all about artificial insemination in different species, and economic strategies in different companies throughout Europe. I find it so intriguing to learn about all the same things I would about my home, but here in a different country. There are many differences I have noted, and it is keeping me interested in wanting to learn more. I begin my Ireland studies course tomorrow and am very excited about that! I am becoming even more appreciative of this diverse world we live in, it's impossible not to learn something new every day you spend in a different place!
Ended my day with dinner at Jamie Oliver's restaurant (Jamie's Kitchen) in Dundrum (a small town near UCD). Conner, Morgan, Jena and I made a trip there to enjoy good company over a nice meal. It's times like this that can turn a day around, so it's always important to appreciate the time you can share with wonderful people.
